Course Objectives The purpose of this course is to familiarize the students to the international components of business regarding legal, political and cultural differences, human resource management, and leadership in the global environment.
Textbook Deresky, H. (2014). International Management: Managing Across Borders and Cultures, Text and Cases. Pearson.
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Explain the global business environment and how it affects the strategic and operational decisions.
  2. Identify the challenges involved in human rights issues when operating around the world.
  3. Implement cross-cultural business negotiations skills.
  4. Explain the strategic importance to the firm of the IHRM function and its various responsibilities.
  5. Compare the complexity and the variables involved in cross-cultural motivation and leadership.
Teaching Methods The methods include lectures (which may involve power point presentation, video and audio aids), student presentations, projects and class discussions.
