Course Objectives This course is designed to help students with the essentials of the creative writing process. Students will apply several techniques and strategies to give original examples of prose and poetry. The course offers a combination of lectures, workshops, tutorials and group discussions. Students will analyze the elements of fiction including characterization, plotting, description, and dialogue. Students will also develop editing skills by offering constructive criticism about fellow students’ work.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. apply a range of creative methods for creative writing;
  2. analyze the elements of fiction;
  3. develop a writing routine;
  4. create original examples of prose and poetry;
  5. critize fellow students’ and their own work;
  6. present information about writers and their work.
