  • Faculty Elective courses can be taken from any program at FASS, apart from ELIT Program.
  • Free Elective courses can be taken from any program at IUS, including ELIT Program.
  • Students who plan to pursue a career in English literature should take at least 8 courses from table "Career in English literature"
  • Students who plan to pursue a career in teaching English should take at least 8 courses from table "Career in teaching English"
  • Junior Standing (JS) means the student has to have successfully completed at least 108 ECTS units to take this course
  • Senior Standing (SS) means the student has successfully completed at least 168 ECTS units to take this course
  • Faculty Council decision is required to bypass a pre-requisite for any course.
  • This new curriculum will be implemented for students who enrol in the Freshman class from the year 2017 and onwards.
  • For the existing students, the Faculty Council will make plans for the proper adaptation to the new curriculum.

  • Other 2xx, 3xx, 4xx or 5xx level courses from other programs at IUS can be taken as program elective with the consent of the Program Coordinator
  • 2xx, 3xx, 4xx or 5xx level courses from other FASS programs at IUS can be taken as faculty elective with the consent of the Program Coordinator
