Course Objectives | 1. Introduce students to general linguistic knowledge of sociolinguistics 2. Teach students to apply sociolinguistic knowledge to unfamiliar sociolinguistic situations 3. Familiarize students with different research methodologies that are used in sociolinguistics 4. Evaluate place and the role of sociolinguistics in the context of historical development 5. Elaborate on the connection of sociolinguistics to other related disciplines 6. Introduce students with the relationship between language and society 7. Teach students the importance of the language in the society |
