Course Objectives To introduce students to the principles of building systems, construction methods, and techniques, to get students familiarized with structural as well as finish works to be implemented in the construction process.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Define building design requirements in relation to site conditions, environmental context and sustainability
  2. Identify common building systems, their role and application in architectural design
  3. Choose and implement appropriate type of wall system in relation to a building type
  4. Choose and implement various types of floor and roof systems according to a building type, loads and spans
  5. Choose and apply appropriate type of stair, elelvation and escalator according to a building type
Teaching Methods PowerPoint and hand drawing presentations. Active tutorial sessions for engaged learning and continuous feedback on progress. Individual homework. Project design assignment (Building).
