Course Objectives | This course presents an overview of current approaches being used to control and manipulate mammalian cells for therapeutic and scientific purposes. - Main goal is to teach students on how to use living cells and tissues combined with genetic engineering tools that can be used to integrate and enhance applications in biomedicine and overall research in life sciences. - An additional aim of the course is to provide specific knowledge on scientific and technical aspects of growing tissues and organs, as well as broader understanding of the challenges of producing, storing, delivering and using tissue engineered products, and their ethical and regulatory issues. |
