Course Objectives To provide students with an understanding of the fundamental principles of biochemistry; To learn the basics of macromolecules and their cellular functions; To provide a reasonably broad perspective of basic processes at the cellular level; To develop an understanding of biochemistry as a creative scientific field; To identify a broad perspective of biochemistry by understanding its basic principles at the molecular level as well as how they are interrelated and regulated.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of core knowledge in biochemistry; Analyze the roles of macromolecular structures and their cellular functions.
  2. Explain the science underlying different principles and phenomena in human physiology and biochemistry
  3. Apply biochemical principles in order to understand cell functions in healthy conditions and disease processes
  4. Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems
  5. Develop professional competence, effectiveness, and skills, such as an effective communication in both, oral and in written form; professional and ethical responsibility; team work; class attendance; participation in class discussions
