Course Objectives The purpose of this course is to provide an assessment of the business in terms of its environment, ownership, social responsibility and ethics. Furthermore, this course aims to familiarize students with major pillars of business, HRM, accounting, marketing and financial management.
Textbook Ebert, R. J. & Griffin, R. W. (2013). Business Essentials. (9th ed.). Pearson Publishing.
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate the knowledge of the business environment.
  2. Identify basic forms of business ownership, ethics, and social responsibility.
  3. Explain the functional areas of business management.
  4. Demonstrate the understanding of employee behavior, motivation, leadership, decision making, and HRM.
  5. Identify marketing, consumer behavior, accounting, and financial management information and processes.
Teaching Methods The methods include lectures (which may involve power point presentations and interactive class discussions).
