Course Objectives The course aims to motivate students to look into a world as a physical realty that is governed by physical laws, to make them curious and to change them in a way that they learn that things are not always as they look like, but also to learn that sometimes things are exactly as they look like. It also aims to motivate students to be critical and to question things.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Analyze and interpret 1D and 2D kinematics problems that include free fall, projectile motion, relative motion and uniform circular motion by using motion diagrams, vector representation of motion, explicit problem-solving strategy for kinematic problems.
  2. Solve dynamics problems in 1D and 2D by applying Newtons' Laws and conservation laws (energy and momentum).
  3. Define Newtons’ Laws, work, energy, momentum and impulse, and explain their relationship to motion.
  4. Perform basic analysis of oscillating systems.
  5. Define basic properties of solids, liquids and gases.
  6. Use ideal gas law.
  7. Solve problems that involves energy transfers by heat and work by using First Law of Thermodynamics.
Teaching Methods Class discussions with examples. Active tutorial sessions for engaged learning and continuous feedback on progress.
