| Abstract | Materials are defined as the necessities of the human beings. However, for the technical point of view, the stuffs are called materials which are used to do manufacturing. There are totally 160 thousands of materials in the industrial applications including the groups of metals, ceramics, plastics and composite materials. Within that group of materials, plastics are very important in the current industrial applications due to their lightness, low cost, corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication. In this study, selection of polymeric materials is investigated. To do this, candidate materials are selected in two case studies including ventilators and sealing elements using the weighted property index method (WPIM). The chosen materials approved nearly totally with those attained by earlier investigators. |
