Sevdadan Sevdaha; Osmanlıca Kelimelerin Boşnakçadaki Anlamsal Dönüşümleri Hakkında Bir İnceleme

This paper looks at Ottoman words that have changed their meaning in the Bosnian language. It begins with
a brief historical overview of how Ottoman Turkish and Bosnian influenced each other, explaining the social
and historical reasons why the words were borrowed. Some Ottoman words have retained their original
meaning, while other have changed partially or completely their meaning over time. The main part of the
study shows a detailed comparison of these words, looking at the change in meaning that they have gone
through in the past years. Given examples show the original meaning in Ottoman Turkish and the current
meaning in Bosnian. The paper shows cases where the meanings became narrower, broader or completely
different, explaining how languages bor aylin row and adapt words in the historical and cultural context of
Ottoman Turkish and Bosnian, showing that the language is dynamic and shaped under the influence of
historical and social factors.
