Being among the countries with limited fossil fuels resources, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) could use renewable energy resources efficiently. In this paper an artificial neural network is implemented to predict the wind speed on short terms in Ivan Sedlo, mountain of Bradina in the central region of BiH. Due to complexity and nonlinearity of wind speed estimation, artificial intelligence methods show a faster and self-adaptive approach to tackle such problems. This paper presents the parameters of the neural network, the results based on practical data of wind speed measurements in the mentioned region and future work that can be proceeded to optimize the wind energy resources in the area.
