Abstract

Establishment of modern, functional and above all effective government in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) could be seen as one of the major preconditions for the European Union (EU) Integration process. The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) usually perceived as a mean for the implementation and establishment of good governance play key role in the role in the process of modernization of public administration. Therefore, in this paper we will present and analyze the status of e-government implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina at state, entity and local levels. In addition, we will analyze to what extent e-government implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina improved the effectiveness and competency of public administration and to what extent e-government system brought BiH closer to EU membership.
