Abstract | Nowadays, driving license has become an integral part of elementary literacy, and often it seemsthat we have to forgotten the fact that how driving a car is a complex and dangerous activity, forindividual itself and for its environment. Driving is a complex psychomotor activity, which includesboth a lot of perceptive and cognitive activities, which are rotating very quickly, and result in atimely reaction. If the person would be able to respond timely to a signal it needs to have at leastaverage intellectual abilities, and certain personality traits, actually the absence of personality traitsthat are considered contraindicated for the driving.One of the basic personality traits, which is the necessary for drivers to develop, is the ability ofemotional control, as numerous studies have shown that it is one of the traits that usually resultswith bringing drivers in an inadequate situation.In this context, it is essential that psychologists are involved in the prevention of traffic accidents, interms of standardization and legalization of assigning medical certificates, following and applyingproper test for a medical certificate, as well as the process of training of drivers and instructorsabout the importance of emotional control while driving. |
