Course Objectives An internship experience provides the student with an opportunity to explore career interests while applying knowledge, skills and competences gained in the classroom in a work setting. The experience also helps students gain a clearer sense of what they still need to learn and provides an opportunity to build professional networks.


*Students must be properly registered and complete minimum of 150 of work hours to receive course credit for their internship. The internship could be evaluated as ACCEPTED, REJECTED or INCOMPLETE. In order for students to receive 6 ECTS, their internship report needs to be ACCEPTED.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Gain practical experience within the business environment.
  2. Acquire knowledge of the industry in which the internship is done.
  3. Apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a work setting

  5. Experience the activities and functions of business professionals.

Week 1 1. Familiarise yourself with the IUS Procedures and Rules for Work Placement/Internship
Week 2 2. Arrive at work as scheduled, ready to work, and stay for the agreed upon time
Week 3 3. Present yourself in a professional manner at all times, including being appropriately dressed for your workplace.
Week 4 4. Communicate any concerns with your supervisor and the internship coordinator in a timely manner and respectfully.
Week 5 5. Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in what you are doing; ask questions and take initiative as appropriate.
Week 6 6. Complete and submit your internship file by designated deadlines.
Week 7 7. Keep track of and accurately report internship hours worked.
