Course Objectives
  • To provide a comprehensive overview of the communication protocol stack with emphasis on the widespread communication systems (Ethernet, IEEE 802.11, LTE) and data networks in use (TCP/IP protocol suite)
  • Introduction to the fundamentals of digital communications: focus on a single link
  • Detailed coverage of medium access and the layers above it: Sharing of media for short range access; routing and end-to-end communication over long distances
