Course Objectives This course introduces project management issues and techniques, which the students are required to apply to real-world projects. Project selecting, structuring, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and project control are the main topics.
Textbook Project Management, A Managerial Approach, 6th Edition by Jack R. Meredith and Samuel J. Mantel Jr. Publisher: John Wiley & Sons; ISBN 13: 978-0471-715375.
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Explain the fundamentals of projects and the project management process.
  2. Demonstrate the use of project planning tools such as Gantt Charts, Critical Path Method, ProjectLibre, etc.
  3. Critically review a project plan with particular emphasis on identifying project risk.
  4. Apply the learning from the topics in the module to real life projects.
  5. To learn how to use a computer software to manage the projects.
Teaching Methods A combination of interactive lectures, class discussions, group projects and presentations tutorials and individual assignments.
