Course Objectives Biological Psychology surveys the anatomical and physiological correlates of perception, motivation, and behavior. Topics covered include neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and the physiology of complex integrative systems (e.g., learning and memory).
Textbook Biological Psychology, Kalat J.W., 12th Edition, Cengage Learning,2014
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Identify structures and functions of the central and peripheral nervous system
  2. Explain membrane potentials, action potentials, and synaptic transmissions
  3. Compare and contract causes of neuropsychological damage and disease
  4. Describe psysiological theories of learning, memory, and recovery from brain damage
  5. Define the synaptic effects of several neurotransmitters, hormones and drugs
Teaching Methods Class will entail lectures, discussions, and practice exercises for guided concept learning and for feedback on progress toward the mastery of class objectives. Course delivery is performed on online platform Microsoft Teams with live broadcasting.
