Course Objectives Health psychology explores the interaction between psychological and behavioral aspects of physical and mental health. Health is defined as the product of biological processes but also of psychological, behavioral, and social processes. Health psychology/psychologists are interested in: (I) Behavior, stress and health, (II)Understanding health-related behavior , (III) Applied Health psychology, and (IV) Clinical interventions

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Identify and understand psycho-social correlates of health
  2. Identify basic health related decision making processes
  3. Identify, describe and issues related to hospital and hospitalization
  4. Understand psychologist's role and hospital system
  5. Evaluate and discuss different health promotion strategies
  6. Understand and evaluate different psychological interventions and counseling and its role in imroving the quality life
Teaching Methods Class discussions with examples. Active tutorial sessions involving workshops on course related, in class covered topics for engaged learning and continuous feedback on progress. Individual and team assignments and projects.
