Course Objectives Social Psychology equips students with understanding of social aspects of behavior, introducing basic topics in the field, as well as theories and research methods used to explore it. The course aims to enhance students` understanding of a broad array of social factors influencing human behavior and strengthen their critical approach both to methods and findings in the field. The course is also aimed at developing students` skills in application of the acquired knowledge in understanding everyday social phenomena. After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to: Define the field of social psychology and name its protagonists Identify and explain major social psychological phenomena and their theoretical underpinnings Explain and critically analyze different situations in real life from social-psychological perspective Explain findings of classical and contemporary social psychological studies and their implications

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Explain cultural norms for pro- social behaviour
  2. Determine components of life styles, beliefs and economic factors
  3. Define Pro- active social perception, isolating stereotypes and prejudices, through adequate social representation
  4. Describe Resisting influence, by individual and group conformity identification
  5. Explain aggression and frustration
Teaching Methods Lectures, videos, documentaries, combined with class discussions with examples. Demonstrations and group work on tasks relevant to the course objective. Individual projects and presentations on relevant topics.
