Course Objectives This course is designed to give students an understanding of several major theoretical approaches that address leadership and study how leadership functions within the organizations.
Textbook Nahavandi, A. (2015). The Art and Science of Leadership, 7th Ed. Pearson Prentice Hall.
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Explain the broader multi-disciplinary context of organizational leadership
  2. Identify managerial traits & skills and the nature of managerial work
  3. Assess effective leadership behavior in combination with dyadic relations, attributions and followership.
  4. Analyze managerial concepts of power and influence and leadership styles.
  5. Apply concept of change to leadership in teams and decision groups to gender, diversity and cross-cultural setting.
Teaching Methods The methods include lectures (which may involve power point presentation, video and audio aids), student presentations, projects and class discussions
