Course Objectives The course introduces the students to the business finance theory and practice with the emphasis on goal-setting in business entities. It provides an opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills in capital budgeting, financial analysis, working capital management, financial planning and risk, and return of the business.
Textbook Book 1: Keown A., Martin J., Petty W., Foundations of Finance, 8th edition 2014. Book 2: Berk, J., DeMarzo, P., Harford, J., Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, 3rd edition 2015.
Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Show understanding of the current financial environment in which business decisions are made.
  2. Interpret financial statements and how they influence long-term planning and growth.
  3. Apply budgeting tools, financial analysis methods, financial planning, and risk management.
Teaching Methods Class discussions with examples. Active tutorial sessions for engaged learning and continuous feedback on progress. Team assignments. Team projects that involve real data, computer analysis, summary, interpretation and reporting.
