Course Objectives

• Equip students with advanced skills and knowledge in Unreal Engine, enabling them to create complex and optimized game projects. • Train students in using advanced Blueprint scripting, animation, and AI behavior trees to create dynamic and interactive game experiences. • Guide students in designing and implementing sophisticated gameplay mechanics and systems, utilizing C++ for custom functionality where necessary. • Teach students advanced techniques for profiling and optimizing game performance, ensuring smooth gameplay across various hardware configurations. • Develop students' abilities to manage, present, and critique complex game projects, preparing them for professional roles in the game development industry.

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in using Unreal Engine, including complex Blueprints, material creation, and project optimization.

Design and implement complex levels and environments, utilizing advanced lighting, post-processing, and level streaming techniques.

Create sophisticated AI systems and gameplay mechanics, leveraging behavior trees, EQS, and custom scripting.

Design and implement multiplayer game features, understanding advanced networking and optimization for multiplayer environments.

Manage and present a comprehensive game project, incorporating advanced gameplay, optimization, and design techniques learned throughout the course.
